Marianna Hotel, Perissa (Santorini)

The hotel was exactly not what I expected. The rooms were awful, musty, and smokey, with the bed being the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in despite overlooking the pool/sea. On the bright side, the service was really nice and welcoming, with friendly staff always available to help. The location, run by the lovely Yvette, was great, close to beach bars and shops, with some rooms offering sea views. The dining experience was delicious, with freshly prepared buffet-style meals. Despite these positives, the hotel falls short on various aspects, like the overpowering smell of smoke outside affecting the indoor atmosphere and being advertised as a 2-star but feeling more like a 1-star establishment.

The hotel had everything I needed in the rooms, but it felt like stepping back in time with an old-fashioned smell, uncomfortable mattress, and noisy fridge. On the bright side, it was equipped with all the necessary kitchen items. The service was exceptional, with super friendly staff ready to assist with various services. The location was convenient, close to the beach and dining options, making it easy to explore the area. Dining offered traditional Greek dishes that suited my taste buds, although the breakfast selection was somewhat basic. The facilities were adequate, but there was a slight noise issue and not everything felt up to modern standards.

The hotel offers a basic room with quite a good view, situated in room 33, providing a beautiful scenery. The service is exceptional, from cleaning the rooms to organizing excursions around the island. The location is perfect, close to the bus station, beach, and supermarkets, while offering a peaceful setting at the base of the mountain. The dining experience is small but very tasty. Overall, a lovely place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
